Monika Egger Kissling

Economist, Sustainable Development Specialist

Monika Egger Kissling is working for 25 years in the development sector with long experience in research and analysis of macro-economic thematic and processes linked to development. She is also an experienced evaluator with a closed look on the sustainability of public development investments and public development aid with a special focus on the social sustainability and integrating systematically the gender aspect. She was for 20 years a researcher at the University and participated regularly in mandates in different fields such as evaluations, development of instruments and methods, editing manuals, organizing and moderating conferences.

Her consultancy services are based on a holistic understanding of the development process and on a systemic approach to development. Her strengths are the interdisciplinary dialogue and collaboration. She developed competencies mainly in the fields of social development and fighting poverty, of institutional building processes including performance studies of organizations and institutions. She still develops – together with partners - methods and instruments, e.g. for improving partnership (toolkit partner assessment). Her holistic understanding of development processes allows her to offer consultancy services in a large spectre, from feasibility studies to the development of long term strategies and programs. One of her precious strengths is the ability and competence to work in interdisciplinary teams, including for evaluations of highly complex development programs and projects.

Since 10 years she is an independent consultant, collaborating with other consultants in an active network and engaged in strategic partnerships. She is namely Associated Partner of skat, St. Gallen. Her professional experience is based on mandates in Switzerland, in Western African Countries and in Eastern Europe Countries.
