Alfred Mink has a long experience as senior person in construction business, site management-supervision and as the director and co-owner of a construction company in Switzerland for almost 25 years. In addition to the long term business experience dealing with all aspects of a medium sized Construction Company he has 15 years experience working in either developing countries, war-torn countries, or countries with armed inner conflicts. Mainly as senior manager on development projects or programs of the Humanitarian Aid in different positions and localities. His expertise covers the various key aspects of the construction sector with special emphasis on infrastructure project such as drinking water projects and roads and bridges. Furthermore was networking, implementation of projects and programmes as well as operation and maintenance aspects and training of professionals always a strong component in his work. He advocates and supports the achievement of sustainability through a "participative (learning) approach" with the involvement of government agencies, local communities and the private sector, as well as through organization development and institution and capacity building. He gained his experience and learning from collaboration with multilateral and bilateral agencies, community organizations and working for governmental or non- governmental organizations like Helvetas, SDC, UNICEF, Caritas in Cameroon, Kosovo, Uganda, South-Sudan, Somaliland and since March 2008 with Skat in Afghanistan. Alfred Mink is currently responsible for the implementation of a technology transfer project in Afghanistan with the aim of piloting and introducing environment-friendly construction materials and technologies, in particular in regards to Vertical-Shaft-Brick-Kiln Technology (VSBK). The technology of this brick manufacturing system originated in China and has been further developed in India with the participation of Skat. |
