Water Supply and Handpump Specialist
Mr. Erpf has over 10 years of experience in design, planning, monitoring, evaluation and implementation of projects/ programmes in the field of rural water supply. His expertise includes design, planning, technical assistance for manufacturing, installation and monitoring of handpump projects/programmes.
He has extensive experience in issues related to institution building, supply chains, operation and maintenance systems and community management, and capacity building and training.
He has worked with multilateral agencies, bilateral agencies, community organizations and non-governmental organizations in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Eritrea, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Madagascar, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, Pakistan, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zimbabwe.
As a design engineer within RWSN (Rural Water Supply Network, former HTN) he worked on handpump research and development, capacity building in local production, technology transfer, quality control and quality assurance. He has been responsible for establishing and maintaining the RWSN handpump standard specifications. Handpump standardisation: Mr. Erpf is a member of ISO Working Group No. 10, on "Manually Operated Pumps", which is a Sub Committee of the ISO Technical Committee 115. Since 1995 he has prepared a large number of national and international standard specifications.
Mr. Erpf has 25 years of professional experience as Works Manager, Production Manager, Director (Company owner) in various Swiss Plastic Processing Companies. He has extensive experience in CAD, Product Development and Production Engineering.
