Promotion of Public/Private partnership in Municipal Solid Waste Management in Low-income Countries

The objectives of the workshop was to : enable participants to share experiences and informally exchange ideas on the state-of-the-art in public-private sector partnerships and privatisation programmes in MSWM; provide a forum for examining common issues and identify management gaps and neede tools for forging better public-provate secotr partnerships in MSWM; detail a list of priority management tools and guidelines for supporting the promotion of private secotr participation in MSWM in developing countries; propose a work programme for joint action in the development of the management tools and agree on a framework for continued information sharing and networking on the subject.
